Street style is the work of models, photographers, stylists, influencers, editors, designers, and now—anyone who curates outfits, sneakers, bags, and accessories for public spaces, content creation, or lifestyle branding—from casual commuters and students to anyone self-publishing style online. Until the Digital Age, street fashion was a subculture. Digitization opened up exposure to new generations of previously unrelated designers and wearers, and Tommy Ton, a renowned street style photographer, states that “street style is now something everybody does.” As the capability to share looks has become universal, the application of principles and best practices developed over generations of fashion insiders has shifted.
